British
British Adapters can be put into two main categories. BSPP and BSPT.
BSPT have tapered threads, similar to NPTF, and seal via threads meshing onto the fixed female. The Male BSPT seals with fixed BSPT female and BSPP Female. The BSPT Female has a tapered thread inside its tunnel which threads to the top and is used as a sealant.

BSPP Males have straight threads, is inverted, and seals similar to O-Ring Boss. It can also seal via O-Ring + Washer combo at the bottom of the threads, or a Metal to Metal concave seal.
BSPP has two different female variations. Female fixed port, or Female Swivel.

Female fixed port has straight threads with 2 sealing methods.
-
O-Ring groove
-
Threads all the way to the top to make the O-Ring + Washer combo on the male.

Female Swivel has a swivel nut and an internal concave. It seals via metal to metal on a mail against the concave.

Metric
Metric Male is straight thread with 3 seal methods.
-
Concave metal to metal seal.
-
O-Ring at the bottom of threads
-
O-Ring + Washer at the bottom of threads
Female Fixed has straight threads, sometimes with an O-Ring groove that is used without-washer male style. No O-Ring groove threads to top requires you to use O-Ring and washer combo to seal.

Female Swivel seals on the concave via metal to metal connection.
